    Great song!

I like your pronunciation tip. Fortunately, I’m already very familiar with that kind of pronunciation from all those Hollywood movies that I enjoy watching.

Now, songs are a different kettle of fish. Some are very easy to understand (I mean, without reading the lyrics) whereas others are very difficult, to the point that  I usually wonder if a native speaker understands them.

From what I have read, even native speakers find it hard to understand some parts of certain songs. I guess this happens in most languages.

Yeah, songs can be incredibly difficult to understand. It’s true, even native speakers have a difficult time understanding the lyrics. That’s why you’ll see so many “…with lyrics” on YouTube. Great for non-native English speakers too.
